Pastor Phil Waters is the Interim Pastor. He is the Japanese-speaking pastor of the Japanese Fellowship which meets here on the same campus.  When Pastor Hal Schulz retired, he agreed to be the Interim Pastor of the English-speaking church as well.

He and his wife Sharyn served in Japan for 7 years with World Venture doing church planting.  Before coming to Oceanside they did Japanese church planting in the Los Angeles area for 17 years. He has been pastoring the Japanese Fellowship here since 2006.

Pr. Phil Waters is a graduate of Denver Seminary with a M.Div. degree. One of his favorite Bible verses is: Philippians 1:21 "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain."
